Short screws door side only!
Long screws frame side only!
Do not remove the (2) screws above and below the butt hinge on the frame side. These hold in the backer plate to mount the hinge to.
Please note!
These hinges have been in production for over 50 years, and due to varying tolerances over that time, you should be very careful when you screw the “Long” screws into the frame side of the hinge where the backer plate is beyond.
We suggest screwing in two screws that line up perfectly, and then running a 12-24 machine tap into the other two holes before installing screws.This process will prevent the stainless screws from shearing/breaking.
